Heed help

I have a 95 civic with a automatic 1.6 sohc vtec and today i was on my way to work and my car just died out of nowhere the car lost power i hit the accelerator but nothing happen every know and then the power would come back but it wasn't enough to get me off the highwayso my car is stuck on the side of the highway and i have only had the car for a about 2 months and i don't know where to start any ideas would help it cranks but wont turn over any help would be appreciated.

cranks but doesnt turn over... check battery, spark plugs, plug wires, distibuter, or electrical as a whole... thats what i would check first

Sounds electrical. Crack in the distributor cap maybe. Or a bad coil. Could even be a clogged cat, does the exhaust smell like rotten eggs? Also could be a fuel issue, pump or filter. Is the check engine light on? Codes?

It might be bad coil so make sure to check everything. It is not gonna be a waste of time since you are gonna be able to further check the whole vehicle.
