1968 amc ambassador

i recently purchased a 1968 amc ambassador sedan with the 343 v8 for 400$ from a guy my brother went to high school with. it definitely needs some work but i think this will be a great thing to spend some free time doing. and i wanted to use this thread as a way to track the restoration of her and i hope to get alot of help and insight from the forum members so without further adu i give you Celestine

Well from the pic I'd say I've seen better look worse. Not bad from this view, how's it look underneath?

i want to start by cleaning up the the engine and painting the parts that need painting and i wanted to Ask you guys how to go about painting the parts do i just remove the strip the paint then repaint with the apropiate paint or is there some other steps i need to take ?

On painting the brackets sounds like you've got it covered..... I'll just throw in my ... be sure to use a good grade of paint I like Krylon's "Rust Tuff" (it's not very expensive), for most brackets we use semi-flat. But use any color that fits your theme. Also be sure to the parts or clean of any grease, it may be worth it to you to purchase a can of "wax & grease remover" to clean the parts prior to painting.
