1997 Camry Hesitating when accelerating

As I was heading out to work this morning I noticed my 1997 Camry 4 cylinder hesitating quite badly upon acceleration. It didn't seem to have the issue if I accelerated very slowly, but if I push the accerator more than 1/3 of the way down it seems to miss or hesitate pretty bad. I think I am going to begin with the a new air filter, but doubt this is the case since I change it every 10,000 miles. My question is where should I go from there? Plugs and wires, EGR sensor, fuel filter or injectors? Thanks for the advise; any guidance is appreciated.
