New Truck

Hey ya'll whats been good lately? I bought a 2004 ford ranger with 217xxx miles for $600. It used to be a U.S. water truck and my step mother works for them so they sold it to me cheap. Its got a 2.3 liter 140hp engine compared to my old 85hp lol, only thing is it's an automatic. All highway miles and it runs perfect. I'll have photos up soon!

Looks like a nice clean truck man, just a word of the wise, a newer ford = pain in the cunt to work on. Like royal pain in the cunt. We have....oh hell...an 85, 94, 99, 03, 05, and an 08 at the shop. The hardest ones to deal with are the ones made in this decade by far. Watch out for your weather stripping, and be glad you don't have a manual - those clutch brakes/springs/assemblies tend to go to shit.

Get yourself intake/exhaust and superchip for the bitch. You'll find you'll probably get quite a bit of "oomph" with those three, without having to do a whole pile of work.

The damn engine bay is more cramped than the Altima's. I think I'm going to keep her pretty stock, fix her up so she runs perfectly. I have a small pinhole leak in the radiator that will go from max to min in the reservoir tank in about 5 miles.

Oh hell, the '08 with the 6.4 Diesel is probably the most insanely cramped engine bay I have ever seen. If you can get your forearm into it, you're lucky.

As for the radiator...if you can see the hole, try some JB Weld first. Shits cheap, but it works wonders. We use it quite a bit around the farm when we can't weld the piece. Patched the diesel tank on the combine with it about four years back, with diesel still in the tank, think we used JB Stik for that, but you might want to look at the JB PERM-O-SEAL.
