automatic vtec

I am researching on modifying my engine or should I just buy another car. I can't drive a manual, I can't have the distraction because of my previous accidents that I got into. What can I do to my automatic to make it perform better?(I am used to the way v6 and v8 drives this is my first v4) I am finding out that there isn't much you can do to a 2001 honda civic. I am not looking for a race car either. What about the suspension?

It's a hopeless car, I had one and tried. Also it's not a V4, it's an I4, most 4 cylinders are inline pattern.

A stick will actually make you a more attentive driver, if you keep crashing cars maybe you shouldn't be driving at all.

In short no. It will help but you're better off with a different platform already built around performance
