Look at the attachment... I am at the middle of that page...

Ya I am going to have to disagree with you on that. One of my best friends had a 1997 Camry in high school. We used to always race around town and I always dusted him. I really doubt 7 secs. No I just have to back my statement with some facts.

I dont really want to disagree with you here Gregg...

My boyz holdin it down

Aight guys I know Im new, But my boyz are holding it down. Import killers is what my boyz and I have been doing for years. We are not only a nation wide car club but we are now global with points set up in England and australia and even in russia The ford Escort has so many modifacations that you can do to it, it is insane. check out <url removed> and check out some of the crazy stuff we have been doing. There isn't a honda in my area that has touched my car. Then i sold mine to project another one, and the motor went on mine so now it just have to continue to rebuild.

I am afraid that me and my "boyz" are only giving Z's to your Escort...

No mods that I know of... just simply that it has some miles so its 0-60 is better than stock... perhaps I just got the info from a bad site...

We might just have a production-made, able American Import Killer in the same class as the ricers. Ford's new Saleen Focus N2O. Stock with a 10 lb. nitrous bottle(75 shot). Lightweight too. About the same stock hp as a Civic Si. Then we can't forget the goodies. Recaro racing seats, white face guages, full Saleen bodykit, etc... So finally folks, at least in the stock class, before ricers spend thousands, and us good ole American faithfuls spend hundreds we have a winner!!

The same goes for the Dogde Stealth AKA Mitsu 3000gt

Haha sorry Voda, you're not getting away with that one. You pop the hood of a Talon,Lazer, or Stealth it says mitsubishi. I refuse to believe that any DSM should ever be considered American. Talons and Plymoths are ricers at heart. So is the Stealth. What do you mean "they were pretty fast in their day"? They still are fast. A decently modded GSX, TSI, or RS(AWD of course) will pull 12's with about 1k of upgrades.

The Cavalier/Cobalt is a joke to me. I always thought that the Mustang and Camaros still dominated imports on the 1/4rth. The Focus is a nice car, never seen to many of them that were fast.

If you read carefully, I think Voda48 poses the question and doesn't make a statement. You didn't really "catch" him getting away with anything.

No I meant catching him as I noticed the question going unanswered. People began to talk about 0-60 in 7 seconds with a Camry? Who cares its a Camry, there is no racing aspect involved in a Camry?

From my readings, alot of the people posting here want to beat the ricers at their own game by dropping v8's into everything. It might only be me but isnt the ricers game the 4 cyl. and the elite ricer cars such as the supra's and the skylines run the 6 cyl. with the wankle rotary as an exception of course.

Thanks Bav. I dont quite get what DSM is getting at here but I'll let him run with it. Anyways I know that they are still fast, I have one of those "old ricers" (Laser RS Turbo)
