Lowering a 97 Eclipse RS

I want to lower my 97 eclipse rs, but a smooth firm ride is extremely important. I don't want to bounce around or squeek when I go over a bump. I plan to lower it about 1 1/2" to 1 3/4". What is the best method to drop (airbags, coilovers, lowering springs), and which brand/model would help me maintain a firm and stable drive?

Pratt = Idiot, one is a 'pratt' when one commits a silly act

That is one of those "British" words. Man w/o that handy slang conversion table from Cliffy I never would of got that.

finally, a reply...even though it had nothing to do with the question I originally had. I'm not an idiot, I just figured somebody with a little more knowledge than me on this subject would help me with my question, but I was getting no responses. I just wondered if there was something wrong with my question that was hindering reponses. Don't be so uptight.
