Im gettin a bmw z3 (used) and my dad says no manual. which is lame. Any tips on gettin my dad to consider getting me a manual car please tell me. anything i could say and all. (he's been real big on cars his whole life he knows his stuff, so it has to be legitimate reasons)

anything i can say, facts, etc why I need manual is greatly appreciated.

You're getting a BMW from your dad, and you want to find a reason to bitch about it? Priviledged little boys like you don't deserve an answer.

I'd be happy with what you got. He might not be willing to go through with this nice bmw z3 if your going to bitch about it Whats wrong with an automatic anyway?

why do you want a manual? Im not trying to diss or anything, but just tell him the truth about why you want a manual. It gives more performance, thrill, joy, etc. for the both of you.

Maybe the thrill dad is looking for is not in the driving per se...

Ok, the question about the auto, I'd have to say I'm with most others on this one, your dad might not look to kindly on you, if you debate why you want a manual, after all, he's doing you the favour. The only advantage I can thik of is fuel consumption, an automatic transmission usually drinks more fuel that a similar manual would, of cause there's performance advantages, but I guess your dad wouldn't really want to hear about them lol

I really am not a spoiled rich boy, or at least i hope im not.. sorry if i came off that way.
