Question And the best first car is...?

Salutations, salutations. Anyway.
I am, as usual, still searching for my first car, and I have plenty of hopefuls. If you haven't read any of my previous posts, then my situation is this: I want a fast car. And I want one that I can get past my parents. As well, I need something tune-able for not much money. Help.
My decision is among the following- tell me something about them so that I can eliminate some of them from my list. (All cars contingent on having a 5-speed manual transmission & two doors. As well, my price range is $4000 firm.)
And the finalists are:

Acura Integra (No chance of a GS-R getting past my 'rents)
Acura Legend Coupe
Any BMW that does not have the lightbulb headlights- I want enclosed ones.
Dodge Neon (An R/T ideally, but any one with the DOHC works.)
Dodge Avenger- Even with the V-6, isn't it still slow? 'Tis what I heard.
Eagle Talon- I figured I best not even dream of getting a TSi.
Ford ZX2- Don't know much about it, other than 0-60 is around 8.
Honda Accord Coupe- LX or EX, V6 preferably.
Honda Civic EX Coupe- Not looking to become rice boy, but is it worth it?
Honda Prelude- Pretty, pretty.
Infiniti G20- I'd have trouble living with this one- four doors- but I've heard that it's worth your while to tune. Anyone?
Mazda MX-6- An LS is a must, right?
Mazda MX-3- Heard that they are slow.... holla back.
Nissan 200SX- Yay or nay, I have no idea. I would want an SE-R.
Saturn SC2- I'd want a '97 or newer, which will be tough to find. The older ones look kindof trashy. As well, 124hp? A bit timid, is it not?
Saturn SC1- I figured if I want a fast car, this one is pretty-much out of the question. But if it tunes well for cheap, then.... maybe .
Volkswagen Golf (2 door)- I doubt I could find a GTI for cheap, so I could handle this, but are they slow?
I know that's a lot of cars, but don't feel obligated to comment on each one. Any info would be helpful. Thanks to all.

legends pack a punch but are prety expensive for teh 1995 model. you will have to get 91-92 model for your budget.

why wont your parents let you get a GSR?

other than that, seems like you have little choice but to get a civic. I suppose you can swap engines, but really, try for the GSR.

The lude is a good choice, has 200hp at the crank, its a good choice if you can get it.

Or a VR6 Golf? Standard with nearly 200bhp and easily tunable.. There is a 780bhp version that does a 10 sec 1/4 mile..!!

Wow that is a lot of cars
Donít know much about some of them
All I can say is
Everything Iíve herd is that Dodge Neons are
Along the same lines as the HyundaisÖ crap!

I like Honda civics I want to buy one and mod the hell out of it.

BMWs are nice but Iíd think upkeep would be at higher cost.

Yes, it is. I love original ideas. But yeah, no- For one, thanks but no thanks on the Buick Regal- there are sleepers, and then there are cars that I'd be ashamed to race- chalk one up to the Buick Regal. Besides, if you noticed, no GM cars made it on my list, and for good reason.... quality sucks, as if I needed to state that. Please.

Patrick, man, you need to answer my question. Why wont your parents let you get a GSR? What kind of restrictions are they placing on you?
