Generally speaking, I'd go with a Toyota or Honda if you want to be practical. If you are performance oriented, I'd go with a muscle car that's a few years older but gas mileage and reliability would be crap.

Arrow Trueno 86

Toyota Trueno 86 or
Toyota MR2 86

Same engine.
These machines corner like a dream.
They are basically drifting cars.
You want performance and fuel efficiency, then here it is.
They can get up to 40 mpg.
0-60 in about 6.
Horsepower is about 250 with standard engine, you could probably boost it with a compressor such as a turbo or a supercharger.
They are stickshift only.
RPM redline is at 14000 RPM but i know the engine can take a lot more.

Hello, wake up, get a clue.

An '86 MR2? Where exactly did you find those specifications? Or are you another one that uses speculations instead? A stock '86 MR2 is good for around 140 horsepower, 8 second 0-60's and maybe 7000 rpm. Please provide me with specifications from a reliable source to back up your bogus claims.

Wow...
250 hp and 40 mpg... there's a car I'd like to drive.

Anyway.... Back to the original question. How about a Jetta or a Golf? Brand new with the 2.0L 115hp engine will cost you around 16K.

Does it really matter, the thread is over a year old and they haven't come back.

Maybe he was saying "You can try to get to 14,000 rpms and blow your engine up"... Haha.

things you had wrong
>wait wait wait, hold on now.... lets see, 250 ponies on the 4age? nah, try around 130
>0-60 in 6? slower
>redline at 14grand? only if youre tryin to blow ur shtuff up somethin fierce...
things you had right
>same motor, yes, in a sence. they did have the trueno chasis but there was also the SR5 (weak motor)
>basically drift cars... only if you want them to be
whered you get our specs? cuz you/ or rather i need to kill or blow up your source

lastly, if you live in japan, plan to import, and/or spend a lot of money, those are basically the only ways to get an actual trueno.... the corolla hatch that you are thinking is actually just called "sprinter trueno"

DO RESEARCH!

then think about the rick james quote... only with me being rick james, and you being charley murphy
