Question EVO Vs Imprezza

Mitsubishi Evo VIII FQ-330 Vs Imprezza WRX STI WR1

ok ive always wanted outside oppinions on theese 2 beautys

the mitsubshi Evo VIII FQ 330 (330BHP 315lb ft of torque @4500rpm)

Imprezza WRX STI WR1 (315BHP 310lb ft of torque@4000 rpm)

Both have always been like evil twins who want to destroy one anthor reputation

Both will hit 160mph and 0-60mph in 4 seconds

And this battle anit just about speed cos the evo would probably win.

so then Let the battle begin

there is a FQ-340 aswel incase you didn't know. (i would replace the FQ-330 with the FQ-340. that way you got the best of both cars)

Evo VIII MR any day although the WR1 is a nice and quick car too.

I'll save you the trouble of even listing those two cars for comparisons. After numerous debates with imporluva on the STi and Evo subject. A general answer can be "User Choice". Because the two cars are so closley matched and where one falls the other stands up. To close of cars to even declare wich is better, its kinda like the US President thing. You can't win by one vote you gotta beat the competition by alot. Wich in this case neither car really whups on the other. Its all a matter of what the user prefers. But of course I would say the Evo is better

FQ will kick STi butt, no denying it. But i still love the good ol regular STi available in the US, non Spec C and non WR1

It will kick its but, but it won't masacre a WR1. So its all up to the buyer. You know an FQ would put and STi to shame, but I bet you would still drive out the dealership with an STi. Buyers choice..

The Lancer would win because it's prettier, and because I said so.

Haha, I think the STi would win with the styling. Unless it was an Evo7. Because the new Mitsubishi front ends look like something that would be found on a Pontiac Sunfire. No pretty, looks like a bird beak from the side.

when it comes to stylin', the STi wins! i hate the new Evo look! like DSMer said, it does look like a birds beak but then again the stock Subaru doesn't look much nice either especially the rear but when it's got a body kit attached to it.......

i hav'nt seen many Evo VIII's with body kits around here though. its like everyone kits up a Subaru

The Evo8 is'nt THAT bad, but I would seriously consider putting a 7 front dam on there. Think thats bad I saw a guy the other day riding arround in a Lancer with a body kit(it appeared to be a Kaminari) but he had a damn subie hood scoop. I was thinking like oh man that guy needs a serious asswhupping.

Also I don't know if the Evo8's have any body kits available for it, I may be wrong though...

Hmm I guess you are right. Never seen a kitted evo before. Apparently there are about 10-12 kits available.

I live in the US, so I am viewing this as the US spec Evo vs. the STI. The sti in america wins on 0-60 (just 4.9 or 4.6 sec), on hp (300 to the Evos 271) and looks (in my opinion). It just cant compete... the Impreza is better (in my book).

look...in the end its all about user preference, like DSMer said. i prefer the new US-spec STi when compared to the US-spec Evo 8. someone else could prefer the evo because they like the styling better. this poll is essentially pointless because of this fact.
