you see. that's the point. it is intended to be a forum, not an argument, you opinionated jackass. i was actually calling attention to your wasting of space and the fact that you don't do anything but flame and spew out stats from magazines. btw. i'll insult you all i want... if you can treat others in a civil manner, i may stop...

right. discussions, not arguments. problem is, you take anything that could be a discussion and intentionally turn it into an argument. we don't want that. look back a few months, and see the shit that was going on in CF. people wanted to leave b/c jerks like you were polluting the forum w/ their caustic negativity and inane flame wars. we have moved on (for the most part) and CF has become much more inviting. now stop behaving like a f*cking child and play nice.

All right (I've already done this, but what the heck).

Besides being an SCCA and BSCC driving instructor for a few seasons, I've been autocrossing and road racing since '79. While I don't have any national wins under my belt, I do have quite a few regional wins. I've built championship autocrossers and road racers, crewed for an IMSA RS raod racing team that also ran Formula Libre, as well as crewed for an SCCA rallye team 9running Mazdas). I've helped build national championship winning SCCA autocrossers (like a few of Greg Fordahl's Porsches), as well as worked on the Team Seattle Porsches that won at Daytona and Sebring a few years back.

I had a shop for 10 years building street rods and sports cars, both restorations and race cars, from Formula cars to vintage Can Am racers. I currently do architectural engineering and design work for the government, and CAD training, as well as the engineering and design on this project: http://www.millenniumairship.com/

And I didn't think to put everything I owned into a then-non-existent digital format so I could prove to some punk kid on the not-yet-invented internet what I did. I let my experience, knowledge, and well rounded appreciation for the subject matter speak for itself, and I don't suffer fools kindly.

If you want an intelligent conversation, drop the insulting, opinionated attitude, and maybe you'll get a respectful response in return.

What does that have to do with automotive knowledge?

I was working in a vintage car restoration shop at 14. By 18, I had been racing for 3 years, and had my own shop. graduated high school with a 4.0 average, but decided I wanted to build race cars. Never even took the SATs.

So what? I've had decades of well rounded automotive experience, as well as engineering experience. Considering we are talking about cars and car knowledge, that makes more difference than SAT scores. You could score excessively high on SAT scores and still not know a thing about cars.

But it seems to be typical with your fascination for numbers/scoring/statistics, rather than any actual knowledge. You want to compare SAT scores as if that will have any bearing on which of us knows more.

I'll counter that with "how many cars have you built and raced?" And did you have enough knowledge to do it inexpensively with materials on hand, or did you have to spend more money to BUY something off the shelf that someone ELSE developed?

I know a few guys in those scenes. What was your actual involvement and the name of your business?

I guess you found out that to end up with a small fortune in the auto game you have to start with a large one?

I worked with Fordahl Motorsports before Greg went over to Park Place Motors, as well as having my own business, Adesso Automotive Design. Greg and I both did suspension work, while he did engine work and I did body and chassis work.

[edit- forgot to capitalize his name...]
