Carlos: is the amount of fuel for a specific car injected by RPM or how much throttle you press? if your on a freeway and coasting at 90mph(3000RPM) will this waste more gas than driving at 60mph at 6000 rpm?? Does it depend on gear ratio and gears?
Thanks Carlos,
Tony

fuel consumption depend solely on your demand on on the engine if you like to accelerate really fast all the time your fuel consumption will increase. .other things that can affect you miles/gallon are A/c and electrical loads

Gallons per Mile is not really correct because if your drving on the freeway your fuel doesnt waste as much than on the streets right?

on a freeway your engine is running at a constant rpm, but in the cities it's constantly stopping and accelerating, putting more force on the engine, which in turn uses up more gas...

Of course... but take this example. If your drivin on the free way at a constant rate at 90mph (at 3000 RPM) will this waste more gas than driving at a constant rate of 90mph(at 6000 RPM). Or does fuel get injected depending on how much throttle you put into it?

6,000 rpm will waste twice as much fuel..

OK now take this example.. your drivng at a constant rate of 90mph (at 3000 RPM in 5th gear) will this waste more fuel than at a constant rate of 70mph ( at 6500RPM in 4th gear)
OR will driving at a constant rate of 25mph(on 1st gear at 7000RPM near redline)

So which one will waste the most and which one the midle and which one the least.

let me put it this way....

the higher the car's RPM, the higher the fuel...

i believe its directly proportional
