The chill of Winter

Ok, with winter coming, and the cold afflicting engines as it always has a question comes to mind. Is there any way to keep your engine from taking longer to start up? Or not starting at all. Could a better battery, spark plugs, anything like that help it start better, and more consistently in the winter? I'm not sure of these things.. please help!

yeh, actually there is something you can do... what you can do is... look for a 10x5 blanket made out of wool or cotton and lay it right on top of your hood.. it would be much better if you knit a sweater for it... heck* read it a bed time story while your at it.
