So this manual, you say, has a 4 cylinder setup for a camaro, tell me does that mean that you have a 4 cylinder camaro, because if you ask me i dont think it could be considered a camaro if its only 4 cylinders

New article in Motortrend says the Cobalt SS did 0-60 in 6 sec and 14.5 in the 1/4 mile.

Check link. http://www.cobaltss.net/forums/showthread.php?t=827

About the 4 cylinder Camaro, you're partly wrong. There was an Inline 4 offered from 1982 to 1986. This info was taken from this book i have that lists all American cars and specs since 1930. There was no 4 cylinder for the years 1987-1992, just a V6 and V8.

Just thought I'd pitch in...

The Cobalt is kinda lacking in style imo. However the SS supercharged is a good attempt to compete with the Dodge Neon SRT-4, but I think it'll need a little more oomph to outrun it.

I don't think the Cobalt is trying to compete with the SRT-4.

The Camaro isn't being replaced

The Camaro is simply taking a break, being redone, w/e you want to call it and this is the first time i have posted pictures i think i did it right and if i did and you can see the pictures of the future Camaro you will have to agree this puts to shame the redone mustang!!! A Camaro could never be replaced by a 4banger.

As far as I am concerned this is the BEST remake of a car ever!!!

The new Camaro kinda reminds me of a corvette in that first picture.

And your right, it does look better than a mustang. But then again camaros always have looked better than mustangs.

So they made a supercharged 4cylinder with 205 horsepower and 200 torque that runs mid 14's in order to compete with civics(I assume you mean the current model) that have 127 hp and 114 torque and runs 16's, and integras which aren't even in production anymore in the U.S.

Do me a favor and tell me why a car company would aim for their competition to be a car no longer in production, thats like saying the subaru legacy is trying to compete with the 55 bel air.

What you said is an ignorant statement from the brain of an ignorant person.

The Cobalt is and isn't replacing the Cavalier. What's happening is, Chevrolet is revamping their entire compact line-up, which previously consisted of one car (the Cavalier). Production on the Cavalier stopped in October, with the surplus currently on lots. Instead now, Chevy is offering a bit more selection in the sub $20 000 range, with the Aveo being an entry level car for students and the like and the Cobalt offering more performance and luxury. While the Cobalt is the closest car to the Cavalier currently in production, it isn't really a direct replacement.

And yeah, the Cobalt is designed to try to gain a bigger share of the tuner market from the imports. The problem is, brand loyalty plays a big role in the automotive market and these entry level tuner cars often end up being the first car young people buy. A kid who buys a Honda now is more likely to buy another Honda when it comes time to replace it. So Chevy is trying to get young buyers hooked on the bow tie brand instead, with the intent of keeping em buying these cars. The SRT-4 is in the same vein from Dodge and I expect Ford will come out with their own version before too much longer (Taurus SVT, maybe?).

I think the supercharged cobalt is a pretty nifty and quick little car and looks a helluva lot better than the Cavalier so I would take one.
