I have no preference for driving. I've had as much fun in my FF SVT Contour and CRX Si (and in a Mini cooper) as in any other car I've driven. Until you get to the outer limits of racing, it simply doesn't matter which end is driving the car. And it all depends on the way the individual car is set up. I'm not going to say a '75 Buick Century is more fun to drive than a Mini Cooper just because it's RWD.

No one drivetrain layout is inherently more fun to drive than another. Individual examples of each of those layouts can be more fun than others, but all layouts have some very fun to drive cars.

I base being fun to drive on more than which one is closest to being an Enzo or Maclaren F1...

By more fun I meant drifting in RWD which is impossible in FWD

Comments? Why is your poll missing rear-engine/RWD and forward mid-engine/RWD, just for two examples?

What? MR is there, but what do you mean by foward MR? I'm lost

MR forever! Ferrari f430 rules over all. That and the Porsche GT series.

FR imo. I like being able to drift and etc, and snow vids suck with FWD cars, but hey. The Chevy Beretta is my favorite car and that's FWD so FF is in a close second. I'd just like to be able to have the ability to do REAL doughnuts (LS1 V8 all that way!!!)

Drifting is sliding. As fun as it might be, 99.9% of my time driving for fun has zero drifitng involved, be it on the tack or on the street.

If you require the ability to drift a car to be the indicator of fun in a cr, you need to broaden your horizons past the latest fads.

Front mid engine: i.e. front engine with the engine fully behind the front axle. This is different than the average front engine car with the engine over the front axle (such as every '60s and '70s muscle car, which are typical FR)

The RX7, S2000, and 575M are examples of front MR. RWD Celicas and AE86 are tradtional FR with the engines up over the front axle.

what is a MR mid engine mount. I thought the engine could only be in the front or the back but mostly the front?

Middle is rear, it's just called middle for some reason beyond my comprehension. (maybe because the weight distribution is 40/60)
