30k and nowhere to put it....

Heres the deal. Im military, deployed. when i get back, im going to have a lot of money, and its all going to a new car. I love the way the '06 impala ss is looking, but i need an outsiders opinion. If im looking for a 2-4 door, decent speed car, what do you suggest?

***Oh yea, i should also say that i have to carry my gear with me sometimes, and all of it wont fit in a 350z ( to get an idea of how much there is)

Another alternative to the Impala SS would be the Charger R/T making 340hp and it starts at 29 but I am sure w/all the discounts, rebates and such you could get one under 30k at the dealership.

Other 4 door ideas:

Nissan Altima 3.5 SE-R (very quick; same motor as 350z)
Acura TSX (nimble; luxury; not as fast as the others, but excellent ride)
Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX RS (fast as hell; AWD; handles well)
Subaru Impreza WRX (fast; AWD; handles well)
Mazda Mazdaspeed6 (AWD; turbo; starts at 26k)

2 door options I would recommend:

Chevy Cobalt SS (surprisingly fast; pretty cheap; decent interior)
Honda Civic Si (new; quick; good gas mileage; reliable; good resale; nimble)
Mini Cooper S (light; nimble; good gas mileage; quick)
Acura RSX-S (nimble; quick; good interior; solid ride)
Mustang GT (fast; RWD; retro styling which is love it or hate it)
Mazda RX8 (good handling; nimble; RWD)
Nissan 350Z (good handling; quick; RWD)
Pontiac GTO (starts at 32k, but you might be able to get one; RWD; fast)

Spend $5000 on a used Accord and invest the other $25k in a well diversified mutual fund. When you reach middle age and you have a nice portfolio you'll thank me for the advice.

Im really looking for a new car, like 2006 or 07, itll b a while till i get back, and as for mutual funds, ive already got two. so no need for that. Im really liking the new impala, but i think im just biased to Chevy. i looked at the mazdaspeed6, and i really didnt like the interior,, but i loves everything else. any advice?
