1993 PROTEGE Front Disc Pads-removing Pins

Hello all,

As with any job I do on my car, I budget one hour and spend 8 actually doing it. This is the joy of a 12 year old car.

Problem, the front disc pads ride on two pins. One on top and one on the bottom. They look like they are friction fitted. I tried punching them out, put this only serves to widen the ends and causes even more grief.

Does anyone have a suggestion as to how I might remove them.?

Thanks

Zodiac

usually a zip gun, if u know what ur doing. i'm afraid they are seized beyond extraction with the tools ur using. if so, replace calipers. check if seal around the piston ain't ripped as well as the boots on the pins. replace if a yes in either case.
