Obd Ii

How did you get this code 5, or 55.

Hook it to a OBD II computer and you should get a P???? something code.

P0005 refers to a fuel shutoff control circuit open
P0055 refers to a Bank 1 O2 sensor problem (drivers side manifold)

I got the code from turning key on and off three times. Is this just some random code or is it something of use to me?

codes

on the old mini vans the 5 meant beginning of code sequence and 55 meant end of code sequence (as far as i remember).

These days it really pays to buy an OBD II scan tool.

It flashes once then twice then five then five again. So if what you are telling me is true in my truck, nothing is wrong. GREAT! Thank you for thr info

Up through 2004 - 2005 Some codes similar to the old Pre OBD II codes could be pulled by operating the ignition key in a certain sequence and counting flashes on the check engine light. You can not get all of the codes that way thus you should use an OBD II scanner on anything built after 1996.
